Skin care...

I haven't been posting much, and I am sorry for that. I intended to post once a day, but that's not been happening like I planned. Once things pick up, which I'm hoping more people find this blog, I'll really find a lot more to write about.

Anyways, I started a new skin care routine that I've come to really love. It's called the "Oil Cleansing Method" (if you google it, you'll actually find the site and get recommendations on how to start, etc.)

So far, even with my break out prone skin (I hate the term 'acne', btw), it has not caused any adverse affects. I mixed 75% Extra Virgin Olive Oil and 25% Castor Oil and I use that to remove makeup and to cleanse my skin for about 3 minutes each night. I then take a hot rag, set it on my face a few times, slowly and gently wiping off the excess oil mixture. After that, I use a cleanser, Murad Soothing Cleanser on my face to get off any remnants of the oil so it doesn't set into my pores. From what I've heard, oil can bring out the clogged pores. So we'll see. I'm on day 14 or 15 using this. My husband says my skin looks beautiful. I also use baking soda as an exfoliant on my face a couple of times a week. I started more rigorously and was using it every day, but it started to burn a great deal. It make my pores noticeably smaller and my face feel amazing after using the baking soda, however. I just make a small paste with water in my clean hands and then lightly buff it on my face with my hands. Let it dry a bit, then wash it off completely.

Now, I did have a break out this week. Not a bad one, just a couple, and I honestly think it was the Revlon Colorstay makeup. I did a bad thing and went to bed w/ it on instead of washing it off. That is a no-no with this particular foundation. It's very heavy. I'm going to try a few different techniques when applying it. I'll cover this coming up soon.

Ta-Ta for now. If you try this "oil cleansing" method, let me know how it works for you!
